Virtual CPA Tax PreparationVirtual CPA Tax Preparation
YRL Group is a virtual CPA practice. You upload your documents securely, work directly with a licensed CPA by phone or video, and approve your return before it is filed. No office visit, no handoff to a junior preparer.
Where we work
We focus on four markets where local tax rules create real filing risk:
- New York City: federal, New York State, and NYC resident tax
- Washington DC: federal and DC D-40 returns, including Maryland and Virginia multi-state situations
- Baltimore: federal and Maryland returns with Baltimore City and county local tax
- Miami: federal returns and final returns for the state you moved from
Why a virtual CPA
A CPA holds a state license, meets continuing education requirements, and can represent you before the IRS. Working virtually means you get that credential without being limited to whoever has an office near you.
What we prepare
- Individual federal and state returns
- Self-employed and freelancer returns (Schedule C)
- Rental property income
- Small business returns: partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations
- Multi-state and part-year returns
- Prior-year and amended returns
- IRS and state notice response
- Federal employee and military returns
How it works
- Complete the 5-minute application.
- Upload documents through our secure portal.
- Your CPA reviews everything and asks about anything unclear.
- You approve the finished return.
- We e-file and send confirmation.
Virtual CPA questions
Is a virtual CPA as qualified as a local one?
Yes. The CPA license is the same whether you meet in person or online. What changes is convenience: you share documents securely instead of driving to an office.
Can you prepare returns for a state you are not located in?
Yes. CPAs can prepare federal and state returns for clients in other states. Some states add their own preparer rules, and we follow each one.
How do I send my documents securely?
Through our secure Canopy client portal. After you apply, we email you a private portal invite. Do not email tax documents.
